DUMUN27 is organized entirely by students at Duhovka Gymnázium. Under the supervision of teachers from our school, our team has worked tirelessly to bring together an experience that brings together students from all around the world.
This year, we want to step it up. We've introduced new committees, bigger and more interesting venues for events, and overall a higher bar for what a school-run MUN can look like. We hope to see you at our next conference!
Model United Nations is a simulation of diplomacy. Each delegate represents a country, or in specialty committees a historical figure or even a defendant, and argues that position on real global issues: climate policy, disarmament, human rights, public health.
It runs on the same structure as an actual UN chamber: a chair keeps order, a speakers' list decides who talks, motions and points shape the flow of debate, and by the end, the room has actually written and voted on a resolution.
Beyond the suit and the placard, delegates leave with skills that are hard to pick up anywhere else in high school.
Last year, delegates from all around the world participated in our first Duhovka MUN. Despite it being our first conference, we managed to secure beautiful venues, such as the Czech Parliament. We also believe that the conference was kept at a high standard, creating an unforgettable experience for all of our participants.
